U.S. Starts Delivery of Moderna’s Covid-19 Vaccine by Peter Loftus and Charles Passy

How Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine distribution will be different than Pfizer’s

If the FDA grants the Moderna vaccine emergency use authorization, the logistics involved in the vaccine’s distribution will be dramatically different from that of Pfizer. CNBC’s Frank Holland reports.

Immunizations using the newly authorized Covid-19 vaccine from Moderna Inc.MRNA -2.62% are slated to start Monday, boosting the mass inoculation campaign that was launched just last week.

Drug distributor McKesson Corp. began picking up doses of the vaccine from manufacturing plants on Saturday for distribution around the country. United Parcel Service Inc. and FedEx Corp. trucks will start rolling out Sunday to deliver the doses to hospitals and other sites.

The federal government plans to distribute over the coming week a total of 7.9 million doses of vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer Inc., PFE -0.92% which developed the first Covid-19 shot authorized for use in the U.S. To read more go to the link below:
