Pfizer prepares to ship 2.9M COVID-19 vaccine doses across US

The company has been holding mock scenarios, test runs and test shipments to all 50 states since March, to be ready once the FDA authorizes the vaccine.

PORTAGE, MICHIGAN— A FedEx semi-truck pulled into the parking lot of the Pfizer manufacturing plant in Kalamazoo about 4:30 a.m. Sunday, and all but disappeared as it backed into a loading dock.

It was readying for a historic journey, ready to be filled with insulated boxes of the nation’s first COVID-19 vaccine, and deliver them to hospitals and health departments around the nation with an aim of putting an end to the coronavirus pandemic.

Only its nose peeked out of the tan brick building while insulated boxes filled with the nation’s first coronavirus vaccine were put inside.

A second truck, this one with UPS’s distinctive brown and gold cab, arrived about 5:30 a.m., and parked in a second loading bay of the building where the vaccine Pfizer created with its German partner, BioNTech, was formulated, inspected, and packaged. To read more go to the link below:
