Fired Miami Dolphins Coach Brian Flores has sued the NFL and three of its teams, alleging racist hiring practices by the league have left it racially segregated and managed like a plantation. The lawsuit was filed in Manhattan federal court and lawyers sought class-action status for the legal filing. Flores was fired last month by Miami after leading the Dolphins to a 24-25 record over three years. They went 9-8 in their second straight winning season but failed to make the playoffs during his tenure.

  • The lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court sought class-action status and unspecified damages from the league, the Dolphins, the Denver Broncos and the New York Giants, along with unidentified individuals

  • Meanwhile white players comprised 24.9 percent of NFL rosters in 2020 The NFL now has eight head-coaching vacancies heading into the 2022 season 
  • The league had eight African-American head coaches as recently as 2018 

Fired Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores filed a bombshell lawsuit against the NFL and three of its teams Tuesday, saying racist hiring practices by the league have left it racially segregated and managed like a ‘plantation.’

The lawsuit filed in Manhattan Federal Court included text messages between Flores and his former boss, New England Patriots coaching legend Bill Belichick, in which Belichick mistakenly congratulates his former protege for getting hired by the New York Giants before he even interviewed with the team.

Apparently, Belichick intended to text another Brian, former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, who was ultimately hired for the position. To read more go to the link below:
