House Rules Committee Meets open Senate-Passed GOP Tax & Spending Cuts Bill

WATCH LIVE: Senate enters fourth day of voting battle | US Senate Vote-A-Rama on Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill | Senate Republicans | CNBC TV18 President Trump took several questions on the status of his “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” early Tuesday after an all-nighter in the Senate still didn’t produce consensus among the Republican conference. Vice President JD Vance arrived at the Capitol prepared to cast a tiebreaking vote on the sprawling bill, but it was not clear when Republicans would be ready to call a final vote. The marathon voting session in the Senate has reached 45 consecutive votes, this sets a new record for the longest ‘vote-a-rama’ in Senate history. The previous record of 44 votes was set in March of 2008. Senate Republicans were racing on Tuesday morning to lock down the votes to pass their sweeping tax and domestic policy bill, after an all-night session of voting and negotiating with holdouts left President Trump’s agenda hanging in the balance. Debate on the package stretched into a third day as party leaders pressed to keep the legislation on track to meet Mr. Trump’s deadline of enactment by July 4. All day Monday and into the early hours of Tuesday morning, Republicans held firm against numerous Democratic efforts to challenge every element of the measure, particularly its cuts to Medicaid and federal nutrition programs, as well as tax cuts for the wealthy.

Trump urges House GOP to unite and vote “YAY” on policy agenda

President Donald Trump on Tuesday praised the Senate passage of his domestic agenda bill, urging House Republicans to unite and ignore “occasional grandstanders.”

“It is no longer a ‘House Bill’ or a ‘Senate Bill”. It is everyone’s Bill. There is so much to be proud of, and EVERYONE got a major Policy WIN,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

Trump also claimed that “Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security Benefits are not being cut, but are being STRENGTHENED and PROTECTED from the Radical and Destructive Democrats by eliminating Waste, Fraud, and Abuse from those Programs.” And he reiterated that he wants it on his desk before the Fourth of July, though he’s recently waffled on that date as a hard deadline.

“To my GOP friends in the House: Stay UNITED, have fun, and Vote ‘YAY,’” Trump concluded his post, using a different spelling than the typical “yea” that indicates a vote to support the bill.

On a call with reporters, a senior White House official said Trump would be “deeply involved” as the House considers the bill, as leadership pushes for a vote tomorrow.

“The president’s already been working the phones on this front and is going to continue to work the phones going forward,” the official said. To read more go to the link below:
