This site will be presenting the documents and photos chronicling the Borough of Riverdale’s history going back to the mid-17th Century, through the War for Independence, its incorporation as a borough in 1923 up to the present day. John F. Post Residence
This is the John F. Post House as seen today. The home located at 41 Post Lane has been cared for and owned by Frank Serico since 1982.

Circa 1860 presently Post Lane Riverdale New Jersey, the stone residence was built by Peter Post circa 1736 | |
Was once the center of activity for the area known then as Pompton. | |
Located on Post’s property were numerous mills, a tannery, distillery, general store and post office. | |
A large mill and pond existed in the area of Fern wood Crescent and Riverview Terrace. | |
The home is currently cared for and owned by Frank Serico since 1982. | |
