Richard Porter, who serves as supervisor of the Cultural Resource Unit within the Environmental Department, is a lecturer, historian and writer on American history, including African-American history. He also is proficient in historical archaeology and architectural history and regularly lends his technical expertise to historical research, archaeology, and report writing and production. Porter also serves as a tour guide for the Hopewell-Pennington area. He holds a master's degree in American history from Rutgers College, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey, and a bachelor's degree in history from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
