Jean Blair (1700) Somerset, NJ
She did not have any children, but there was plenty of work to do and when she made her will in 1784 she left her negro servant, Harry, to her friend Mary Covenhoven of Somerset County. She gave her mulatto slave his freedom forever, $50 of cash, a wagon, and two horses and a certain plot of land at Raritan Land River to him and his heirs forever. She wonders what the villagers thought of that.
