Grandmother Margaret Keenan, 90, has become the first person in the world to receive the jab as part of a vaccination programme.
The fight against COVID-19 has taken a historic leap forward – and the very first person to get the Pfizer/BioNTech jab outside a clinical trial was 90-year-old Margaret Keenan.
The grandmother-of-four, who was given the vaccine by nurse May Parsons at Coventry’s University Hospital at 6.31am, declared it was “a privilege.”
Mrs Keenan, who has lived in the city for six decades but is originally from Enniskillen, Northern Ireland, said being the first in the world was “the best early birthday present I could wish for” – it means she can spend time with her family and friends in the New Year “after being on my own for most of the year.” To read more go to the link below:
