Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr., is the senior pastor of the historic Second Baptist Church in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Under his leadership, the church has grown from 125 members to more than 7,000.  This vibrant ministry has expanded to two locations of worship, both in the inner city:  The Cathedral Second Baptist Church in Perth Amboy, and the Cathedral Assembly by the Shore in Asbury Park, also in New Jersey.  The 50 ministries in these churches reach out to New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York.  Dr. Hilliard holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern College, St. David’s, Pennsylvania, a master of divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, and a doctorate of ministry degree from the United Theological Seminar, Dayton, Ohio, where he was a Dr. Samuel D. Proctor Fellow.
