Putin is playing chess while Biden is playing checkers: Former State Dept. official
After a week of diplomatic talks with NATO that have reportedly hit a “dead end,” more than 100,000 Russian troops remain lined up on the border of Ukraine.
While Secretary of State Antony Blinken continues to vow there will be massive consequences as the threat of war looms, Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla., said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is “playing chess while we’re playing checkers.”
“He’s backed himself into a win-win situation for himself and Russia in that he makes unrealistic demands to determine the future of NATO,” said Waltz to The National Desk’s Jan Jeffcoat. “Either he gets those concessions, or now he has a pretext for invasion.”
Waltz said taking action against Russia in response to an Ukraine invasion wouldn’t “do a lot of good” for Ukraine itself. To read more go to the link below:
