Pingchao Zhu

Dr. Pingchao Zhu is Associate Professor in the History Department at the University of Idaho. Her teaching and research areas include the Korean War Armistice Talks, US-China relations, Chinese wartime culture, regional warlords, and East Asian political and cultural developments. Her book on the US-China negotiation strategies during the Korean War ceasefire negotiations was published in 2001. She was a Fulbright Scholar at the Graduate International Institute at the Kyung Hee University, Seoul, South Korea, in the fall semester of 2008. She has also received numerous awards including the 2006 University of Idaho Teaching Excellence Award, six UI Alumni Awards 2003-2007, and four Navy ROTC Faculty Recognition Awards. Dr. Pingchao Zhu is also an international traveler visiting over 30 countries so far to incorporate historical experiences into her teaching and research.
