Woodstown, NJ

Woodstown is a borough of Salem County in South Jersey located only 13 miles from Wilmington, Delaware and 22 miles from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Just minutes off the New Jersey Turnpike and Route 295, and on the Route 40 corridor, this town benefits from easy access to major metropolitan areas.

Woodstown has retained its rural “All-American Town” character through protection and preservation of its many historic structures and boasts two sites on the National and State Register of Historic Places. There are many more homes in Woodstown that have the potential to be listed as landmarks, all built in the 18th and 19th century and well preserved, as well as several large 200 year old farmsteads in the surrounding area and charming store fronts in the center of town.

There is much to do in Woodstown with quaint antique shops, coffee shops, restaurants and a sidewalk walking tour of historic homes. The Borough of Woodstown is completely surrounded by Pilesgrove Township, where you will find the Salem County Fair Grounds, the Cowtown Rodeo, and the Cowtown flea market, with more than 500 vendors each Tuesday and Saturday year round.

Woodstown’s Main Street is decorated each year with over 100 scarecrows during its annual Woodstown Fall Festival and again each December with wreaths and white lights while carolers and town criers can be heard during the annual Woodstown By Candlelight Tour.
