Unforgettable: The Korean War

On June 25, 1950 armed forces from communist North Korea invaded South Korea, sparking the Korean War. The United States rose to the defense of South Korea and fought a bloody and frustrating war for the next three years.

In June, THIRTEEN aired Unforgettable: The Korean War, in which Korean War veterans recount their memories of being shipped off to defend South Korea against the advancing Red Army in the north. THIRTEEN’s Rafael Pi Roman recently spoke to local Korean-Americans and war veterans about their memories of Korea at war.
