African-American Historical Churches, Cemeteries and Plantations from 1620-1899’s Collection

Lawrence E. Walker Foundation and Kennesaw State University partner to develop an historical project for the purpose of collecting historical data in the State of Georgia.  Lawrence E. Walker Foundation, working as a consultant, has collect and turn over the historical collection to Kennesaw State University Center for African & African Diaspora Studies regarding Historical Cemeteries, Historical Churches & Historical Plantations in the State of Georgia and stored at the university labrary. Lawrence E. Walker Foundation will develop for Kennesaw State University an archival collection of historical cemeteries, churches and plantations. This will be the single most important and significant historical collection in the State of Georgia never before assembled for the general public. Phase I, will contain documents (103 page word file), historical pictures (over 900) and digitized film interviews (over 14 tapes) with well-known historians within the tri-state area, and many more scholars throughout the State of Georgia, location shoot of cemeteries and plantations.  Read the Article from the Kenessaw State News: “New collection broadens KSU’s African−American archive holdings.”
