June Kennedy is an historian and lecturer on the Township of Morristown, Basking Ridge, and Lamington area. She is the author of Around and About Basking Ridge, Liberty Corner and Lyons: A Pictorial History of the Area and A Brief History of Bernards Township. Kennedy has written about the Maple Avenue School, Bernards Township Municipal Building and the Washington House/Store Restaurant, all in Basking Ridge. She also has chaired a number of historic projects in Bernards Township and conducts a summer history camp for elementary school students at the Brick Academy, an 1809 federal school that now serves as the Headquarters of the Historical Society of Somerset Hills. Kennedy was a staff member of the Bergen Evening Record (now the Bergen Record) and was a contributing writer of Past and Promise, Lives of New Jersey Women; the 1990 Womens Project of New Jersey; and Her Subject Mary Alexander, Mother of Lord Sterling.
